Maria Albaugh has been teaching, choreographing and directing companies all over the world for the past 25 years. She began her formal dance training here in Vancouver Washington and expanded from there. Training in Las Vegas, New York and Guatemala just to name a few. She began teaching in the Portland area 25 years ago. From there her teaching took her to Las Vegas, Alaska and Guatemala. Maria Albaugh has directed both ‘Extreme Dance company’, a student based company and training program as well as being the artistic director for ’Pivot Dance Company’. These companies have given Maria the opportunity to perform all around the world. Including; Spain, Scotland, Alaska, Guatemala, New York and Las Vegas, Maria has also had the opportunity to Choreograph for the Ballet Moderno in Guatemala city. Passion and commitment to art is a lifestyle for Maria, along with her 3 amazing children, 5 grandkids and wonderfully supportive husband. Dance has given her so many opportunities to be creative and inspire other artists to do the same. The most recent opportunity being at the Multnomah Athletic Club, as the interim head coach for the dance program. She is excited to grow and expand with and amazing dance program and extremely talented faculty. If there is one thing that Maria wants to impart on other artists and people, it is this simple quote: “At the end of my days, I hope to have not a single bit of talent left. Then I can say “I used everything you gave me.”
